Wildflower Travel

Let's be wildflowers, scattered by the wind

Hello Hello,

Welcome to Wildflower Travel, my name is Lily and I’m searching for my niche in the world by trying to experience as many cultures and places as possible.

Growing up in Lake Tahoe, California, I’ve been surrounded by beauty my entire life. I believe in living a life that makes you happy and rich in memories, not material goods and accolades. Its okay to be a wildflower and wander the world, even if the world keeps telling you otherwise.

A little bit about me:

I earned a scholarship to play soccer at a University near San Francisco, California. Everywhere I travel to, I find a way to integrate soccer into the mix, whether it be coaching underprivileged youths in Costa Rica, or crashing a pickup match in England, soccer has created great moments around the world and in my life. My travels are based around soccer seasons so I’m a bit limited on time, but I still try to travel every break I get (broken ankle or not).

I have traveled by myself, with close friends, and as part of organizations. While all of them have their perks, traveling by myself and meeting up with friends on the road is my favorite way to go. I’m still searching for that perfect traveling partner.

I finance all of my travels by waiting tables, working at a library and coaching. Travel is as expensive as you want to make it. I work ridiculous hours for a month in order to travel for two months. It’s all how you want to live your life.

I believe that the people I meet are the best part of traveling (followed closely by the food, think kebab stands at three in the morning or gelato on a backstreet in Italy.)

I believe the best conversations happen over drinks and tapas and those are the stories that are hardest to put on paper.

If any of that sounds interesting to you, or if you just want an excuse to avoid responsibilities by reading travel stories, this is the place for you. Let’s get lost.
